Dear friends,

After a hiatus in 2020 we are pleased to welcome you back to the next running of the Leigh-on-Sea Striders 10km Race.  The 2021 event (to be held on 2nd January 2022) sees a significant change to the route from previous years, so someone is guaranteed a course record if not a PB! The new course takes in three separate loops of the best Leigh-on-Sea has to offer for runners and visitors to the area to enjoy the local surroundings. By headtorch, because, to add a little more uniqueness our race is held after sunset. Starting at 6pm, what better way to enjoy a Sunday evening (and you get Monday to rest too!)

To ensure an accurate run time for everyone we will have chip timing and of course the wonderful support and marshals that make our event one of the best small races around. Oh, and let’s not forget the Prosecco at the finish.

After 11 years of running this event, we are taking a more sustainable approach and among many other aspects, our unique medals will be invisible; instead, we have something a little more useable for everyone who crosses the line, as well as prizes for all category winners.

Lastly, the LoSS 10k has, and always will be run to support local charities and we have raised well over £30k for some very worthy causes. This year we are delighted to be supporting two charities very close to our hearts, CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young & Southend Hospital Trust – Oncology & Stroke Dept.

We invite you to join the maximum 650 runners taking to the streets in bright clothing and headtorches to blow the cobwebs of the festive period away and start your New Year with a bang! You can enter through our partner Race Roster by clicking the link below.

2022 Leigh-on-Sea 10k – Race Roster Entry

We look forward to seeing you in January,
Dean & the LoSS 10k Team

About the LoSS 10K

First run on the 27th September 2009, the Leigh-on-Sea 10K is now an annual fixture in the racing calendar every autumn. Places are limited to 650 entrants.

2018 was an exciting year for us as it marked the 10th year anniversary of the Leigh-on-Sea 10k. It also saw a change of venue which enabled us to have our start and finish alongside our HQ area, while still maintaining much of the original course.

The race has so far raised in excess of £22,000 to local charitable organisations and this year we are proud to once again be supporting the Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation.
