Leigh on Sea 10km
Sunday 2nd November 2025
A fun, after-dark, chip timed 10k multi-terrain race through the heart of Leigh-on-Sea.
Following the success of last year, there’s also a 5k option with the inclusion of a Junior 11-15 entry for the 5k (with an adult 5k entrant).
Starting at 6pm headtorches are a must and, with our usual Halloween theme, spooky costumes are encouraged – you might even win the spot prize for the best fancy dress!

The Leigh 10k is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds going to our charity partners – this year we are supporting Southend YMCA and their invaluable work with local children, young people and families.

Leigh-on-Sea 10k 2024 - Results
Another year and another spook-takluar after dark race comprising of both a 10k and 5k distance took place with our largest field yet competing in this unique nighttime, multi-terrain course.
With great thanks to all you that took part, our sponsors Run Active, Happy Stride and Tropicana Nights plus all the amazing volunteers and the best marshals in the business.
Participants helped to raise a record £8,166 with £500 being donated to the Essex Wildlife Trust and a massive £7666 going to The Alzheimer’s Society. Well done all involved from the many marshals, folks at C2C for use of their carpark, sponsors and all who ran or ate cakes.

We were over the moon with the final results from our 10k race this year.
Congratulations to all who participated who helped to raise £5,500 with £5,000 going to the Finish Line Fund and £500 towards Essex Wildlife Trust.

30 October 2022 Results:
A spook-takular after dark race saw runners conquer our multi-train course. With great thanks to all participants, volunteers and sponsors Run Active we raised £3,500 towards our chosen charities this year: Little Havens and Trust Links. Plus we were also able to donate a further £250 to Essex Wild Life Trust.
Not only were spectators treated to a carnival of lights racing around Two Tree Island, along Marine Parade and through Old Leigh Town, they were also treated to a range of fabulous Halloween outfits. It truly made for an unforgettable evening with finishers welcomed back to the C2C station car park with a glass of fizz, a banana, homemade cakes and hot fresh Pizza.

A triumphant inaugural Leigh-on-Sea After Dark 10k took place on Sunday 2nd January 2022. With thanks to all participants, volunteers and our kind sponsors at Run Active we raised a fabulous £2,000 towards our chosen charities this year: CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young & Southend Hospital Trust – Oncology & Stroke Dept.
